The roads in Da Nang are wide, beautiful, and easy to travel. Only the road to Son Tra or the Hai Van Pass has steep sections, so you should rent a scooter to ensure safety during this 3-day 2-night trip to Da Nang. Or rent a new automatic scooter, very strong.
By renting a motorbike in Da Nang, you can freely go wherever you like. The best times in Da Nang such as watching the sunrise on the beach, or the sunset on the Hai Van Pass, or the city view at night on Son Tra peak… cannot be reached by renting a private car.
There are many attractions in Da Nang that are hard to reach by car. For example, the Chessboard Peak on Son Tra Mountain, if you rent a car, they will not take you there because of the steep road, and taking a taxi will be expensive. Or going up the Hai Van Pass, a car will not take you higher than the Hai Van Quan, the most beautiful viewpoints of Da Nang that a car cannot reach…
It’s best to tell the motorbike rental owner in Da Nang that you will go to places like that, they will advise and choose a suitable bike for you.

In Da Nang, there is also a service for renting motorbikes by the hour which I have not experienced, so I cannot provide updated prices. You can directly inquire using the contact information below.
There are 4 reasons why you should rent a motorbike in Da Nang:
- The tourist spots in Da Nang are suitable for traveling by motorbike
- The farthest tourist spots like Hai Van Pass, Ba Na Hills, or Hoi An Ancient Town are only 30km or less from Da Nang. The only exception is My Son Sanctuary which is over 60km away, but it is recommended to take a guided tour instead of riding a motorbike as last time I went there on my own, it was just a ruined site, with no explanatory signs.
- Cost-effective
- Compared to taking a taxi or renting a car for transportation, renting a motorbike to explore Da Nang is super cheap.
- For a day in Da Nang, you only need to pay around 100k for bike rental and 60k for fuel, allowing you to visit all the tourist spots in the city, go to Ba Na Hills, or Hoi An… Meanwhile, the cheapest 4-seater taxi ride from Da Nang to Hoi An is 200k one way, 400k round trip. Therefore, you should choose reputable rental shops for a much more secure experience.
- Choose a convenient pick-up and drop-off location: You can go directly to motorbike rental points in Da Nang to choose a bike that suits you, but you can also ask them to deliver the bike to your hotel. Most bike rental places require you to provide your ID card, driver’s license, and around 500k for a deposit.
- Check the bike before taking it: You have chosen reputable motorbike rental shops, but you should still check the bike you intend to rent to be more certain. According to the experience of many who have used this service in Da Nang, you should check the throttle, handlebars, brakes, tires, horn, lights, etc., to ensure everything is working properly. It’s better to be cautious.

ITINERARY FOR A 3-DAY, 2-NIGHT TRIP TO DA NANG AND TOUR COSTS
Tourist Tickets
- Ba Na Hills ticket: 700,000 VND
- Marble Mountains ticket: 15,000 VND
Day 1: Hoi An Ancient Town – Dragon Bridge
Around 12 pm, we will be in Hoi An Ancient Town. The ancient town is most beautiful in the evening when lanterns are lit, so we will explore, walk around, shop, eat… and wait for the evening.

Goods sold in the shops in the ancient town are not very cheap and you can bargain. In general, the attitude of the sellers is not as welcoming as in other places (maybe because they are Vietnamese?). We also visited Hoi An market to try local dishes such as clear shrimp and pork dumplings, grilled meat, Hue sweet soup, green bean cake…
At 6 pm, as the sky started to darken, all the eateries lit up. We chose a restaurant in the ancient town to enjoy Quang noodles and Cao Lau at the price of 40k/bowl, quite delicious but one person needs to eat at least 2 bowls to be full.
After dinner, we strolled around taking photos and then returned to Da Nang. After resting and changing clothes at the hotel, we went to the Dragon Bridge to have coffee, a hot spot for young people in Da Nang. If you go on the weekend, you can see the dragon spitting fire, so the area is very crowded on weekend evenings.
Day 2: Exploring and having fun at Ba Na Hills tourist area
Ba Na is about 25km from Da Nang, so it takes about 40 minutes to get there. Here are the directions for those who don’t know how to get to Ba Na. Remember to follow these 9 steps:
- Step 1: Arrive at the Ba Na Hill gate, present your ticket and queue up for the cable car at the new station (Hoi An station). Ba Na Hill has 3 stations, currently the Hoi An station is used for going up.
- Step 2: Stop at the MARSEILLE station (18). With this station, you will visit in order: the Golden Bridge, wine cellar, flower garden, maze, Linh Ung Pagoda. The order is as follows: from here, walk across the Golden Bridge (a new check-in spot inaugurated in 2018 at Ba Na Hill) – then visit the Debay wine cellar – Le’ Jardin flower garden – Linh Ung Pagoda
- Step 3: Return to the Le’ Jardin station (13) to take the mountain climbing train to the D’ Amour station (12), then walk down to the Debay station (11). Take another cable car up to the French Village.
- Step 4: Arrive at the Morin station (29) – welcome to the French Village! Here, if you turn left, you will see the queue for the high-speed slide. Tip: this is the most popular game, so many people play it, you should queue up from the beginning or play first.
- Step 5: After playing this game, if you’re hungry, you can have lunch. I had a buffet at the CLUB restaurant (22) or ARAPANG (23) or European restaurants in the French Village: Kavkaz (26), L’Etable (31), Brasserie (35), Le’ Jardin (36), La Pensee (37), La Lavande (39).
- Step 6: After lunch, play games in Fantasy Park (25), be careful not to eat too much if you plan to play adventurous and thrilling games.
- Step 7: After playing games, you can walk around the square to join the festival, stroll around the French Village for photos.
- Step 8: Walk up to the Tru Vu Tra Quan to enjoy tea (if there are elderly family members) and visit the spiritual area (41) where you can see Ba shrine and bell tower for a beautiful panoramic view of the French Village from above.
- Step 9: If you’re bored, you can return to the Louvre station (21) or L’INDOCHINE (30) to go down to the parking lot and return to the city. The INDONCHINE station holds 4 world records and is faster than the Louvre station. If you play at Ba Na until around 5 pm, we will return to Da Nang for dinner. After dinner, back to the hotel to freshen up and then enjoy the beautiful night streets of Da Nang.

Day 3: My Khe Beach – Son Tra Peninsula – Marble Mountains – Han Market and return to Saigon
On the last day of the 3-day-2-night Da Nang Hoi An tour, in the morning we woke up early and went to swim at My Khe Beach. True to its reputation as one of the 6 most attractive beaches on the planet, My Khe boasts a vast stretch of white sand that is visually captivating, crystal clear water, and white waves crashing onto the shore. The beach is very clean, despite its vastness, there is no sign of litter. This is truly a paradise for beach lovers.
After swimming, we returned to the hotel for breakfast, checked out, and headed to Son Tra Peninsula.
Son Tra Peninsula is famous for Linh Ung Pagoda, one of the 3 “Linh Ung Pagodas” in Da Nang. The pagoda is located on a mountain, 5 years ago when I came here, we had to climb very high stairs, but now cars can drive up to the parking lot right next to the pagoda, making it very easy to get around. From a distance, you can also see the statue of Quan The Am Bodhisattva (the tallest in Vietnam), standing at the foot of the statue, you can truly appreciate its grandeur and magnificence, as if it embodies the essence of heaven and earth.
Marble Mountains are formed by 5 mountains: Metal – Wood – Water – Fire – Earth. This is a famous tourist destination in Da Nang with attractions such as Am Phu Cave, Tam Thai Pagoda, Linh Ung Non Nuoc Pagoda, Quan The Am Pagoda, Huyen Khong Cave, Xa Loi Tower,… Due to limited time, we only visited a few places on the Marble Mountains map.
At Marble Mountains, there is a stone carving industry, so at the foot of the mountain, there are many shops selling intricately carved stone items at reasonable prices (if you know how to bargain), suitable for buying as gifts.

After visiting Ngũ Hành Sơn, it was time for lunch. The driver took us to an affordable and delicious local eatery.
Finally, we went shopping at Han Market.
Han Market is well-organized, with prices listed and even scales provided by the market management for customers to weigh items (Buying outside, you need to be careful as sometimes sellers may switch the item you tried for a different one). Visitors often buy items like dried beef, dried fish, sour shrimp, tamarind squid, pickled shrimp, grilled coconut cakes, etc.

Total expenses for a 3-day 2-night trip to Da Nang are:
1,015,000 + 500,000 + 220,000 + 715,000 + 550,000 = 3,000,000 VND / 1 person
So, if you go on a 3-day 2-night trip from Saigon to Da Nang, it will only cost around 3,000,000 VND (I have calculated it a bit comfortably) for a wonderful trip to Da Nang. Isn’t that right? Why travel in a rough and inconvenient way when you can do it with style and comfort.
