Types of Coral Diving in Nha Trang
Every trip or destination is a wonderful experience for every traveler. From conquering the mountains and passes of the northwest, to the experiences of the rivers and canals of the Mekong Delta, as well as exploring the coastal islands along the Central region. All are valuable experiences. And diving in Nha Trang is one of them.
There are 3 popular forms of coral diving in Nha Trang nowadays: Snorkeling, Diving, and Seawalker. In this article, let’s explore the distinctive forms of coral diving in Nha Trang together!!
1. Diving
What is Diving?
Diving is a deep-sea diving activity with an air tank. To participate in this activity, you need to have some knowledge about diving. Usually, before diving, there will be someone to guide you on basic knowledge such as hand signals, using the air tank, etc.
Can you go diving if you can’t swim?
If you can’t swim, don’t worry about this activity because to dive underwater, you will have to wear additional lead weights of about 14kg and an air tank of about 9kg. So, for someone who can swim normally, it would be difficult to float with that weight. Here, you will be wearing a buoyancy aid connected to the air tank, and when diving, you just need to gradually release air from the buoyancy aid, and when you want to resurface, you just need to slowly pump air back into the buoyancy aid.
Rest assured that before, during, and after diving, you will have a diving guide closely accompanying you. The best and most beautiful place to dive in Nha Trang is Hon Mun, the only coral conservation area in Nha Trang.
Notes for diving in Nha Trang
- To go diving, you can choose between two tours: a private diving tour or a combined diving and island tour. You can check the program here:
- The diving time ranges from 15-20 minutes depending on each person’s health. Make sure you will have an exciting experience with this diving sport.
- But you still need to pay attention to:
- Ensure your health before diving: If you have heart disease, high blood pressure, etc., you should not experience diving activities. Do not dive when you are too hungry or right after a full meal.
- Strictly follow the rules and instructions of the guide. Even if you have diving experience, you should warm up and practice diving for 5 minutes with the guide for safe diving.
- Breathe evenly through your mouth, breathe slowly, exhale completely before inhaling oxygen, this is how you avoid getting tired when facing pressure from the sea.
- Do not step on any coral reefs as there are many sharp coral reefs that you may not be aware of. Many tourists have had their feet cut by accidentally stepping on them.
- Do not drink alcohol before diving. Drinking alcohol before diving will make you dehydrated faster and can cause unpredictable complications when the pressure increases.
- After coming ashore to prevent ear discomfort, you should close your mouth, cover your ears tightly, and breathe out gently through your nose.
- You must wait 24 hours after diving before boarding a plane to allow your body to recover, if you do not have enough time, you should not go diving.
2. Walking Underwater
When visiting island beaches, mainly focusing on scuba diving and professional diving activities. However, in recent years, to serve the entertainment needs at island beaches, with human intelligence combined with the development of science and technology, a completely new underwater sport called Seawalker (walking underwater) has been introduced.
What is Walking Underwater?
Walking underwater, also known as Seawalker, is an ideal choice for those who want to explore underwater life but are not good at swimming or do not want to dive. This is a soft diving system. Before exploring the seabed, tourists will be equipped with the latest exploration technology, with a helmet like an astronaut, with a transparent shield, no need for air tanks. Tourists can comfortably explore underwater life while breathing as if on land.
Where to Walk Underwater in Nha Trang?
