1. Guide to checking the ticket code

Nowadays, traveling by plane has become increasingly simple. You don’t have to go to the airport or any agency to buy tickets. You can sit at home or anywhere and still be able to buy cheap flight tickets online, receive a code, and wait for the flight day. However, many passengers still feel uneasy because they are afraid the code may have incorrect information or the system has not confirmed it, and so on. When you book Bamboo Airway flight tickets online, you will receive a code, also known as a reservation code or ticket code. When you successfully book a ticket, the system will send it to your phone via text message or email.

The reservation number is a code that customers receive immediately after successfully booking a flight ticket. Bamboo Airways’ reservation code consists of 6 characters including letters and numbers.

You can print the ticket or store the reservation code as text on your phone, write it down, take a photo, etc. When checking in before boarding the plane, the staff at the check-in counter will ask passengers to provide the e-ticket/reservation code for the check-in process.

If there are any errors in passenger or itinerary information, customers can request Bamboo Airways for changes.

At the security checkpoint, initially you need to present your flight ticket along with personal identification documents such as an old or new style ID card or passport for security personnel to verify your identity. If the passenger is a child under 14 years old, they must carry their original birth certificate or a certified copy to be allowed on the flight. Then, your carry-on luggage will be scanned through a machine and you will pass through a metal detector to check if you have any dangerous items on your person or in your luggage. Metal objects or electronic devices such as keys or phones, belts should be placed in a tray to pass through the scanner to avoid unnecessary delays for both parties. Additionally, your shoes must also be placed on a tray to go through the scanner as the current requirement at all airports is that passengers passing through the metal detector must not have anything on them except clothes, with shoes and other items needing to be placed on a tray, including wallets. Handbags or jackets should also be placed on the tray, so don’t forget to do so to avoid wasting your own time there.

6. Regulations on the airplane and experiences when flying with Jetstar Pacific

6.1 Regulations on the airplane

Carry-on luggage

As not all airplanes have enough overhead storage space to accommodate all passengers’ luggage and to ensure safety requirements, you should place small, light carry-on luggage under the seat in front of you and place your larger carry-on luggage in the overhead compartment. Remember to carefully arrange your carry-on luggage to prevent items from falling out of the storage compartment. Please note that all carry-on luggage must be left on the airplane in case of emergency evacuation.

Safety instructions

Bamboo-Airway-2019-11

On flights, the flight crew will instruct on how to use safety devices and regulations before the plane takes off. Passengers need to follow these instructions to ensure safety throughout the flight. Even for passengers who frequently travel by plane, as different planes have different safety instructions and emergency equipment, passengers need to pay attention to these information.

Safety belt

Bamboo-Airway-2019-04

The seatbelt on the airplane is designed for passengers to fasten, adjust, and release quickly. In cases where the seatbelt includes a shoulder harness, passengers must wear the shoulder harness. Passengers are required to wear the seatbelt during taxiing, takeoff, and landing, or when the seatbelt sign is illuminated. For added safety, passengers should keep the seatbelt fastened throughout the flight to prevent accidents when the aircraft encounters turbulent weather conditions or strong turbulence. If traveling with children, ensure they know how to use the seatbelt or assist them in fastening it. In the case of passengers with infants, the cabin crew will provide a seatbelt specifically for infants and instruct passengers on how to use it.

Seats near emergency exits

Bamboo-Airway-2019-03

Emergency exits should only be opened upon request by the flight crew in case of emergency, passengers are not allowed to open emergency exits on their own. There are specific regulations for passengers sitting in seats near emergency exits, so the flight crew members may sometimes ask passengers to change seats. Passengers sitting in seats near emergency exits have certain responsibilities as they may be asked to open the exit door in case of an accident. When seated near an exit row, passengers should carefully read the safety instructions card and request detailed guidance from the flight crew member if there are any unclear issues and may request to be moved to another seat if they are unable or unwilling to perform this task when requested.

Safety Instructions Card

The safety instructions card located at the passenger’s seat will guide: to the location of emergency exits; the method of opening emergency doors, and how to use safety equipment on the aircraft, such as life vests and emergency oxygen systems. The location and operation of emergency exits may vary on different types of aircraft that passengers have encountered before. Therefore, it is important to read the safety instructions card before each takeoff, even for aircraft types that passengers have flown on before.

Portable Electronic Devices

Some electronic devices are not allowed to be used on the aircraft as they may interfere with the aircraft’s navigation and communication systems. Other devices may be used outside of taxi, takeoff, and when permitted by the flight crew. Passengers should pay attention to the flight crew’s announcements regarding the use of these electronic devices. For some electronic devices using lithium batteries, passengers may be restricted from bringing them on board. To transport these devices, passengers need to contact the airline regarding the transportation conditions related to lithium batteries for electronic devices.

Passengers should not use headphones during boarding, taxiing, takeoff, landing, or disembarkation as wearing headphones may make it difficult for passengers to hear instructions from the flight crew and ground staff, especially in emergency situations.

Some Notes on the Aircraft

Bamboo-Airway-2019-14

Behaviors such as: disorderly conduct on the plane; verbal abuse or threats; physical assault; intoxication; causing disorder; excessive alcohol consumption; refusal to follow crew instructions; endangering the safety of the aircraft… are not allowed on the plane. If these behaviors occur, the plane may have to make an emergency landing and passengers may be forcibly removed from the plane, denied transportation, fined, or prosecuted.

Currently, smoking is prohibited on all flights, so passengers need to pay special attention to this regulation.

Preventing injuries for passengers and flight attendants

One of the most common injuries on a plane occurs when a food or beverage cart hits a passenger’s knee or foot. Keeping knees or feet in the aisle can also increase the risk of tripping for the crew. Passengers should be mindful to keep their knees, feet, and carry-on luggage out of the aisle while seated to avoid injury risks from contact with moving objects during the service on the plane.

Flying with infants, children

For the safety of both adults and children, each infant or child under 2 years old must be accompanied by an adult passenger.

Passengers should use the safety harness provided by flight attendants throughout the journey to protect children; ensure comfort for children while flying; provide a familiar and safe seat until landing. If using a child’s own seat equipped (similar to a car seat), passengers must contact the airline in advance.

In case of emergency oxygen masks, passengers should put on their own mask first and then put it on the child.
