Hồ Tà Pạ is a destination that attracts many travelers from all over Vietnam, especially those living in the Eastern and Central South regions. At Tà Pạ Lake, the combination of clear blue water and the majestic mountainous scenery of Tô Mountain has touched the hearts of many visitors.
What does Hồ Tà Pạ offer?
Beautiful and captivating, Tà Pạ Lake is likened to the “Enchanting Lake” of the Southwest. This place particularly attracts adventurers with its peaceful beauty, poetic charm of the majestic mountains and the emerald green water of the lake.
In the early mornings, Tà Pạ Lake hides in the mist like a charming watercolor painting. The tranquil, emerald green lake, accompanied by the sounds of the mountain forest, creates a pristine, mystical yet dreamy space. Given the natural beauty bestowed upon this place, the name “Enchanting Lake” was born.

History of Ho Ta Pa
Ho Ta Pa was originally just a place where a company mined stones. Over the years, this place was no longer mined and left a deep pit of about 7m. Gradually, the rain and underground water flow created a quiet lake nestled against the cliffs, with the majestic To Mountain in the distance.
The lake is surrounded by towering cliffs. Looking down from above, you will see a strip of crystal-clear water, as if you can see all the way to the bottom. In the deeper parts, the lake surface will be deep blue, in shallower areas it will be light blue, and there are even places with black water, dark orange, or light yellow. These shades of blue are all created by the rocks from below. That’s why many people can’t help but marvel at the beautiful scene of the lake resembling a watercolor painting at all times like Ho Ta Pa in An Giang.
What to do at Ho Ta Pa?
If your purpose of visiting Ho Ta Pa is just to admire the pristine, tranquil, and picturesque nature or just to take a “virtual living” photo to show off to your friends, it would be a shame if you don’t explore To Mountain, located only 6.9 km away from Ho Ta Pa. This is one of the mysterious Thất Sơn mountains, with many legends, and you can swim in the streams here during the rainy season.
On the contrary, if you only go to Mount To without visiting Tạ Pạ Lake, it would be a waste. Here, you can take hundreds of great “instagrammable” photos, not inferior to the Tuyệt Tình Cốc in Đà Lạt, Ninh Bình, or Hải Phòng.
Notes when visiting “Tuyệt Tình Cốc” Tạ Pạ Lake, An Giang
- To ensure safety for your trip, you should pay attention to the following points:
- Avoid going when it’s raining as the slippery conditions are very high.
- Avoid swimming in the lake: Due to its depth and cold water, when you go down to swim, you are very likely to cramp, catch a cold, or hit the underground rock veins.
- Apply mosquito repellent when visiting Tạ Pạ Lake.
