Taipei Tower is the ideal stop for every traveler visiting Taiwan. This is the tallest tower in Taiwan and was once honored as the tallest tower in the world until 2010 when it yielded this position to the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. The famous Taiwan tourist attraction is not only known for its sky-piercing height but also for its extremely unique design. It is designed like a bamboo shoot reaching straight up to the sky with stacked floors resembling bamboo joints. Inside Taipei 101 Tower, there is a giant metal sphere suspended between floors 88 and 89. This sphere is described to play a role in balancing the building during earthquakes up to 7 on the Richter scale and even in storms with winds exceeding 216 km/h. Taipei 101 Tower has a total of 61 elevators, including 2 high-speed ones (1,010 m/min). Visitors can reach from the 1st to the 89th floor in about 39 seconds. As it is a symbol of Taiwan tourism, this place is always included in the itinerary of full-package Taiwan tours.

Adding a bit more information about this tower, the Chinese people have a tradition of carefully studying feng shui before constructing houses, so Taipei 101 also features these distinctive feng shui marks. For example, a water fountain, symbolizing prosperity, is designed at the base of the tower. In terms of shape, it looks like a bamboo trunk with 8 sections, symbolizing good growth, and each section consists of 8 floors. In Chinese culture, “eight” symbolizes prosperity and abundance. The three exterior decorations of this tower also carry important meanings, symbols of luck, success, and wealth.

Climbing 89 steps leading up to the museum, each step symbolizes a year in Chiang Kai-shek’s life. Inside, you can admire military memorabilia, numerous medals, and uniforms. The Chinese characters on the walls reflect Chiang Kai-shek’s political values of ethics, democracy, and science. Many tourists visiting Taiwan are struck by the solemnity of this place, especially when witnessing the changing of the guards. A trip to Taiwan must include a visit to this place.

In the midst of an ancient village, there is a natural waterfall with a picturesque and enchanting beauty, captivating and mesmerizing, that is Shifen Waterfall in Taiwan in the ancient town of Shifen. This beautiful island has a waterfall dubbed the Asian version of Niagara, although not as grand and spanning two countries like the “original”, Shifen Waterfall is still one of the places not to be missed. To admire Shifen, you will have to cross a suspension bridge. The waterfall is about 20 meters high and 40 meters wide, making it the widest waterfall in Taiwan, located at the upper reaches of the Keelung River. Shifen Waterfall in Taiwan has the most complete natural beauty, untouched by human development, ancient trees grow around the waterfall like a mother protecting her daughter in her adolescence, moss grows freely on the rocks, all giving viewers a sense of ultimate freedom and comfort. Daliu Geological Park is a famous tourist destination in Taiwan and was voted as the “Most Beautiful Natural Destination in Taiwan 2013”. It has a total length of 1.7 km, including Area 1 – where there are dozens of rocks shaped like Ginger and Mushroom, as well as 2 famous rocks with shapes like Ice Cream and Candle that attract a lot of attention from visitors to Taiwan. Area 2 is similar to Area 1 with fewer ginger and mushroom rocks. Here, the Rock Dragon Head and Rock Queen’s Hand are the highlights of this area. Besides, there are rocks shaped like an Elephant, Peanut, Pineapple… Area 3 is located on the other side of the park, with a much smaller area compared to Area 2. Part of it is adjacent to the mountain wall while the lower part is where the strong waves flow. This place has many unique rocks, different from the previous 2 areas, with rocks like Beehive, Peanut Rock, or Weather Rock. Although the tour ends at 6:00 pm as stated on the ticket, you can stay as long as you want. The advice is to come around 5:45 pm, so you can freely take photos and enjoy the most beautiful sunset of the day. This tourist destination in Taiwan is also known as Taipei Imperial Palace. The National Palace Museum will be a point of interest for those interested in history in general and Chinese history in particular. This place will not disappoint you with its 4 floors of exhibits and modern personal audio presentation devices. In my opinion, you should spend at least 2-3 hours (if touring briefly) here. The price here is a bit high, around 350 Taiwanese dollars, but it is definitely a reasonable investment considering the number of ancient artifacts here is more than in the Forbidden City.
