According to local people, the reason why this beach in Phu Quoc is called “Bai Sao” is because in the past, every evening when the sunset light fades, a black color covers the white sand beach, then tens of thousands of starfish move in to flood the shore and underwater, so the locals named it Bai Sao.

In the summer, most beaches in Phu Quoc have big waves. Therefore, tourists often flock to Bai Sao because of its calm sea, gentle wind due to its location sheltered from the southwest wind. The sea surface is calm and flat, with only the sun and the wind gently touching the skin of the tourists, the sound of laughter echoing clearly like a symphony harmonizing amidst the waves.

Known as Bai Kem by locals, located in the south of Phu Quoc Island, in An Thoi town, about 25km from the central town of Duong Dong. Although not as long or wide as Bai Truong or as famous as Bai Sao, Bai Khem possesses a charming curve that captivates people with its fine white sand beach, unique natural rocks, and clear blue sea that can be seen to the bottom. Viewed from above, Bai Khem Phu Quoc has a wild, surreal beauty, like a bow lying between two lush green forested slopes.
Especially, the sea water at this Phu Quoc beach is extremely clear and clean, sparkling in the sunlight stretching alongside the fine white sand beach and the cool green trees running along the beach. Bai Khem Phu Quoc has few slopes but many rocky cliffs, creating a very picturesque scene amidst the primeval forest. 4. Bai Dai Phu Quoc
Bai Dai is located in the district of Phu Quoc island, in the gulf area between Thailand and Vietnam. With a length of 15 km, Bai Dai runs along the northwest coast from Ganh Dau Cape to Cua Can. Bai Dai Phu Quoc was once voted as the top among 13 pristine and beautiful beaches. Bai Dai Phu Quoc is likened to a paradise of golden sun, cool water, and vast green coconut trees swaying in the wind. Compared to Bai Khem in the south of the island with a crescent shape, Bai Dai is more straight but still enjoys gentle waves due to being sheltered by the gulf. From Bai Dai Phu Quoc, tourists can go shopping after a day of freely frolicking in the emerald sea.
Similar to Bai Khem, Bai Dai is also developed by Vinpearl Phu Quoc Resort. Although not entirely covering Bai Dai, this area is still considered the most beautiful beach. For tourists staying at Vinpearl Phu Quoc Resort, it is easy to enjoy the clear blue sea of Bai Dai and the fun activities here.
About 1 km from Bai Dai are Hon Dam and Hon Doi Moi, where visitors can experience the beautiful scenery of small, pristine beaches or participate in activities such as kayaking, fishing, snorkeling to see coral reefs and other marine life in the ocean.
Located in the north of Phu Quoc Island, away from the city center and less affected by pollution, Bai Dai offers comfort to visitors when they come here for relaxation. This is why Bai Dai is an attractive and appealing beach in Phu Quoc for both domestic and international tourists.
5. Ong Lang Beach, Phu Quoc
Ong Lang Beach is located in the northwest of Phu Quoc Island, about 7km from Duong Dong town center. The best time to visit this beach is from November to April. It seems like Phu Quoc has hidden this beach and only reveals it to those lucky enough to find it.
When you swim at Ong Lang Beach in the morning around 7 am, you will see a clear blue color. The sea is calm and sparkling in the sunlight. Tall coconut trees stretch towards the sea. Stepping into the cool but warm water, you can immerse yourself for a long time. Looking up, there is only a white cloud in the sky. The sun shines through the swaying coconut leaves, making the sunlight shimmer. The sea waves gently push your body. It’s refreshing to breathe in the pure and fresh air like this!
You can have lunch at Coco Palm Beach right by the beach or opt for a more budget-friendly option like the Biển Dương restaurant near Dinh Ba Le Kim Dinh. In the afternoon, Ong Lang Beach is also the perfect spot to admire the most beautiful sunset in Phu Quoc.
Sunset at Ong Lang Beach is vibrant enough to remind me of similar evenings in the Maldives or the Philippines. When the sun sets, you can ride a bike to seafood restaurants to enjoy fresh, delicious, and affordable seafood.
I don’t know if it’s because of my love for this place that Cuong Du Lich associates the experiences at this Phu Quoc beach with two other famous island destinations, seeing a glimpse of Santorini and a touch of Maldives at Ong Lang Beach?
When in Phu Quoc, make sure to visit a secluded beach named Ong Lang Beach! Cool, peaceful, pure, and beautiful enough to make you linger…
The Most Beautiful Streams in Phu Quoc
Let’s continue exploring the top 3 most beautiful streams in Phu Quoc with Cuong Du Lich:
1. Suoi Tranh Phu Quoc
If you have the chance to visit Phu Quoc Island, besides immersing yourself in the cool turquoise beaches with stunning white and golden sands or exploring historical sites, … tourists should visit the eco-tourism destination Suoi Tranh, likened to a painting.
From the center of Duong Dong town, Phu Quoc, follow 30 Thang 4 Street towards Ham Ninh, about 10 km to reach Suoi Tranh eco-tourism area.
Suoi Tranh is one of the impressive tourist spots in Phu Quoc and is considered one of the natural attractions on the pearl island. Although not a large waterfall, Suoi Tranh still exudes a picturesque beauty, and the scenery on both sides of the trail leading to the waterfall is very vivid.
Suối Tranh is famous among domestic and international tourists for its cool, beautiful natural scenery and the harmonious combination of flowers, grass, mountains, forests, sea, and streams. It is a place for relaxation, camping, and exciting outdoor activities. It is also considered an ideal sightseeing spot for tourists when visiting Phu Quoc. Visitors come to Suối Tranh to enjoy the picturesque scenery resembling a painting during the rainy season. It is recommended not to visit Suối Tranh from November to April if you want to see the clear white waterfalls.

To reach the clear white waterfalls of Suối Tranh, you will pass through dark forested areas with tangled vines, but once you pass that section, you will enter a path filled with golden sunlight filtering through the trees onto the ground covered with dry leaves and wild grass.
Suối Tranh in Phu Quoc originates from streams on the Ham Ninh mountain range, flowing through mountain crevices, winding through tree roots and rocks to create a dreamy green stream stretching 15km. Occasionally, there are rocky sections that make the stream no longer gentle, forming small, soft, white waterfalls amidst the lush greenery of plants and flowers. Suối Tranh is truly a beautiful masterpiece of the pristine Phu Quoc forest.
Visitors to this Phu Quoc tourist spot can bathe in the stream, immerse themselves in the clear, cool water, or relax on flat rocks listening to the soothing sound of the flowing stream, the chirping of birds in the forest-scented air. Suối Tranh – a masterpiece of nature bestowed upon this island. If you have the opportunity to visit Phu Quoc, prepare some light snacks and simple drinks to enjoy a picnic at the Suối Tranh tourist area.
2. Suối Đá Ngọn Phú Quốc
Suối Đá Ngọn is located in the northeast of Phu Quoc Island, near the Duong Dong reservoir, with 7 stunning waterfalls that are not well-known to many tourists. Partly due to its challenging geography and the lack of tourism development, Suối Đá Ngọn’s majestic and mesmerizing beauty remains a secret for adventurous travelers visiting Phu Quoc.
Unlike Suối Tranh, visitors must explore Suối Đá Bàn during the rainy season to see water, but Suối Đá Ngọn’s waterfalls flow vigorously all year round. Tourists often choose the dry season (from November to April) to visit Suối Đá Ngọn Phu Quoc because during the rainy season, the water is abundant and the stream rocks are slippery.
The majestic appearance of Suối Đá Ngọn Phu Quoc is no different from the Dray Sap and Dray Nu waterfalls in the Buon Ma Thuot highlands. Suối Đá Ngọn resembles an endless Jacuzzi bestowed by the gods for brave travelers. However, the flow of Suối Đá Ngọn is also gentle, winding like a graceful woman with long, alluring hair. Visitors to this Phu Quoc tourist spot can also explore the incredibly diverse plant life of the Phu Quoc primary forest with scattered orchids, precious wood species. Occasionally, tourists may encounter purple orchids adding vibrancy to the mountain forest. Suối Đá Ngọn Phu Quoc is waiting to welcome visitors to conquer and explore.
The path from the foot of Da Ngọn stream is extremely spectacular. The rocks are of various shapes and sizes. Shoes are “useless” in the face of the wild nature, only bare feet can painfully overcome the millions of difficult rocks, sometimes having to step in the icy cold water. At times, you have to climb along the stream bank, holding onto tree branches for balance, sometimes grabbing thorny pineapple branches, hands bleeding, painful. The most joyful moment is when you step on flat rocks, comfortably admiring orchids, moss clinging to the branches of the forest trees.
You have to climb five more waterfall levels to reach the top of Da Ngọn stream. All five of these waterfalls are more beautiful than the two lower ones we passed. Among them, the fourth waterfall is about 10 meters high, water pouring down into a wide pool of about 30 square meters, perfect for swimming and cooling off. The rain started to pour heavily, so we had to descend the mountain. You have to be very careful when stepping on the floating rocks, as the moss on them absorbs rainwater, making them slippery. Despite being extremely cautious, many tourists slip, some even fall and get swept away by the water, luckily grabbing onto a submerged rock. Exhausted but excited, after what seemed like hours, we saw a glimmer of light at the “horizon”. It was the foot of the stream, where a composite boat was waiting to take us across Duong Dong Lake.
The ecological conservation area of Da Ngọn stream in Phu Quoc is located at the lower source of the streams originating from the Ham Ninh mountain range, an ideal place for outdoor activities, mountain climbing, exploring pristine forests, and bathing in streams.
3. Da Ban Stream Phu Quoc
If you are looking for a refreshing change of scenery from the beaches in Phu Quoc, Da Ban Stream is a relatively ideal choice.
It is one of the 4 quite famous streams in the Kingdom of Pearl Island, including Tranh Stream Phu Quoc, Fairy Stream, and Da Ngọn Stream. Its location is quite close to the center, only about 10km from the center of Duong Dong town in Phu Quoc, belonging to Cua Duong commune. The stream originates from the Ham Ninh mountain range, one of the longest and largest mountains in Phu Quoc, flowing down to Duong Dong town all year round.
In recent years, Da Ban Stream Phu Quoc has become a truly ideal ecological destination for those who love to explore the beauty of nature.
Explaining the name of Da Ban stream is partly because the rocks here are flat, so it is called that way. And of course, Da Ban stream is also associated with legends such as fairies descending to the lower realm and partly because of the fresh and peaceful scenery resembling a fairyland. Travelers who want to participate in stream bathing services or relax themselves, this place is considered the most suitable choice after each journey to explore the islands.
The ideal time to visit Da Ban stream is from May to the end of October. Why? In Phu Quoc, the climate and weather are divided into 2 seasons: rainy season and dry season. The dry season lasts from November to April of the following year and the rainy season is in August – September. However, from May to October, the lakes or streams are usually quite green because there is plenty of sunshine but not harsh.
To ensure safety and ease of movement, you should avoid going to Da Ban stream during the rainy season, as sudden thunderstorms may occur, the water level of the stream rises, and the smooth rock slabs become slippery obstacles.
Around June is still the dry season, at this time the nature at Da Ban stream cannot fully show its beauty, so choosing the right time is quite important. Also, if you go on beautiful sunny days, it is truly ideal when the sun gently shines through the green tree branches or sparkles down on the stream, still cool and peaceful.
It’s not a bad idea if you can organize a small camping party with your friends while having fun at the beautiful streams in Phu Quoc. And it’s fortunate that this tourist spot is quite developed with camping tourism, providing all the necessary camping equipment for you, including a barbecue and double or group tents…
